Obituary
Carlos Benjamin Darnell, 64, a resident of Matthews, NC and formerly of Cleveland passed away Sunday morning, January 19th, 2014 in a Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hattie Dunn Davis and Carl Simpson Darnell, grandparents Otis and Margaret Shelton Dunn and James Blaine and Victoria Parks Darnell.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Flossie Darnell of Matthews, NC, daughter Sharon Renae (Andre) Wright of Lenoir City, TN, grandchildren Andrew Brent Wright of Cleveland; Brittany Wright Grigsby of Friendsville, TN and Eden Wright of Lenoir City, TN, sisters Sue Cofer, Connie Darnell and Carlene Williams all of Cleveland; brothers Kenneth Darnell of Ayer, MA, Michael Darnell of Delano, TN, Joseph Darnell of Benton, TN and William Allen Ledford of Hendersonville, TN.
The family request that memorials be made to Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care, 324 N. McDowell Street, Charlotte, NC 28207.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. A remembrance will be placed in the Cofer Cemetery.
Cremations services were provided by Cremation Society of Charlotte, NC.
