Carl Voyles

Carl Voyles, 62, of Athens, TN passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2020 due to heart disease.
Carl was a life-long member of McMinn County. He joined the local painter’s union 266 out of Chattanooga in 1977. He worked for T.V.A. Hydro Electric Dams and Watts Bar Nuclear Sequoyah plants, Pen Gulf Inc, Olin Chemical and Blassingame Painting in Athens, TN. He was a painter and retired from Richard Harrill & Sons Construction. His most proud moments were painting many of the local Churches along with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents J.B. (Red) Voyles and Vonnie (Lingerfelt) Voyles of Athens, one sister Judy (Voyles) Thompson of Edgewater, FL, father and mother in law Claude & Joyce (Rockholt) Womac of Ten Mile, TN and one sister in law Darlene (Womac) Krouse also of Ten Mile, TN.
Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years Claudia (Womac) Voyles, one son Jason Voyles and his wife Danielle (Blanchard) Voyles of Knoxville, TN, one daughter Melissa Voyles of Athens, TN, brother and sister in law Jim & Lenora Voyles of Deland, FL, brother in law Ted Krouse of Ten Mile, TN, brother in law Richard Thompson of Knoxville, grandchildren Elizabeth Voyles, Isaac Vess, Lilith Voyles and Scarlet Voyles, several cousin and other extended family member along with a host of special friends.
Our family would like to thank the E.M. Ts, Fire Department and Police that responded to try to save Carl.
There will be no formal services at this time. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
