Carl & Cathy Summars

Carl, 67 & Cathy Summars, 62, both of Cleveland, TN passed away in peace on August 2, 2020 at Tennova Healthcare. They were both of the Baptist faith. Carl & Cathy was married for 41 years, devoted mom & dad as well as mamaw & papaw. They enjoyed family time with loved ones, teaching those around them what true love meant. Everyone knew Carl as “the guitar man” for the beautiful music he made and Cathy as “momma Cathy” for the passion she showed as a mother. Both will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Preceded in death by parents, Arnold Summars, Julia Mae Summars, Lillard Casson and Reba Duckett; siblings, Junior Duckett, Tom Summars, Bob Summars, Burl Summars, Lee Summars, Donnie Summars, Randy Summars, Carol Boling, Bev Hayes and Freddie Summars
Survived by their son, Carl Raylon (Cherie) Summars; daughter, Samantha (Chris) Mayo; siblings, Muriel (John) Glover and Jimmy Dale (Ellen) Summars; grandchildren, Madison (Kyle) Pierce, Saige Pinson and Hayden Mayo; several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 4:00 PM-8:00PM at Companion Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the funeral home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Lee Palmer officiating. Burial will be held at New Friendship Cemetery with pallbearers Chris Mayo, Kyle Pierce, Rodney Raymer, Matt Lamon, Rob Wilson, Dustin Curtis, Darrell Crisp, PD Doss, Quinn Hixson,III, Chuck Norman, William Palmer and Harold Palmer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
