Carl A Stutz, 80, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on December 22, 2021, at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Born on March 13, 1941, in Indianapolis, IN. The family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1951 and lived there until he moved to Cleveland TN in 2005. Westwood Baptist where he was an active member of the Gatekeeper ministry and a door greeter. The members and friends of his WBC family will surely miss him greeting at the door, and we will too!
He is preceded by his parents Carl A. Stutz and Margaret June Scott Stutz, and his first wife Theresa Olivia Morgan. He is survived by his wife June Bow, his four children, Steven (Diana), Glenn (Susan), Michelle and Cindy. Beloved Papa to eleven grandchildren, Kyle, Craig (Anya), Melanie, Mallorie, Steven (Chelsea), Christian (Meredith), Alexis (Dakotah), Katherine, Philip Alexander, Olivia, Kristina and four great grandchildren, Elijah, Athena, Lucius and Kinsley. He leaves behind many friends and extended family whose lives he also touched with his friendship generosity and kindness.
Carl worked for Amoco as a tank truck driver for 34 years before retirement in 1999. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. His passion was trains, a model railroad baron, he built intricate O-gauge model train layouts that went throughout his homes and a great room that he loved sharing with his grandkids, neighbors and friends. In the early years he was a baseball coach in Ft. Lauderdale teaching his own kids and those in the neighborhood to “play ball” and influencing them well into their future.
Carl and June Bow have been blessed with 22 years of marriage, traveled twice to Israel, they enjoyed train travels throughout the United States and they loved having people over to their house for dinner.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Carl Stutz will be held at 6p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Westwood Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 4p.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the Church.
A Private graveside service with military honors will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
