Candice Robinson

Candice Renee "Candy" Robinson was born Dec. 11, 1954, in Chattanooga, TN and died Oct. 2, 2023 at age 68 years, 9 months and 21 days at her home in Charleston. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Candy was born to Shirley Lord Robinson and A. Traylor Robinson. She attended Tyner High School in Chattanooga before moving to Cleveland in her junior year of high school. In 1971, Candy was voted "the fairest of the fair" at the Chattanooga Area Fair and then was voted "Best Looking" at Cleveland High School in the class of 1972. Her beauty was legendary.

Candy married William Allan Jones Jr., in November 1972. Candy is survived by daughter, Courtney Elaine Jones Pendergrass (husband Chris) and granddaughter Virginia Kate "Gincy" Pendergrass. She then married Dennis Botts where she is survived by sons Matthew Botts (and wife Jeri), Zachary Botts, and Kaitlin Botts. Grandchildren include Braxton Botts, Maggie Botts, Kylin Rae Botts, Caiden Botts, Izabella Smith, Zachary Near, and Atlas Botts. She is also survived by her father, A. Traylor Robinson (wife Tina) stepfather, Max Holden, her sisters, Dottie Jordan and Kerri Robinson, and stepsister Michelle Bull, as well as her special aunt, Kay Hatfield.

Candy was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Holden, grandmother Dorothy Lord, and by daughter-in-law, Whitney Botts. She worked many years at the Maytag Call Center in Cleveland and at Child Support Services of Tennessee. Candy was particularly fond of her dog and constant companion, Butter Bean, who passed a short time earlier.

Her funeral services will be held at Companion Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 9. The family will receive friends from 11a.m. to noon and the service will begin at noon. The Reverend Jim Gibson, Candy's 1972 classmate, will officiate.
