Bruce Kelly Matthews, born October 28, 1973, in Chattanooga, TN, passed away May 26, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Crystal Matthews, and her children, Kyle and Carter Hawkins. His children, Zachary, Kymberly, Christopher, Dakota, and Evan Matthews. His family also includes his mother, Veronica Brown and Step-Father, Joe Brown; brothers Mitch and Kristopher Baxter; sisters Elizabeth Estermyer, Angel Brown, and Summer Green; step-brothers Chadwick and Justin Green and Joseph Brown; as well as his father & mother-in-law Eddie & Glenda Cartwright; brother-in-law Jeremy Cartwright, and sister-in-law Christina Callahan. He will be missed by his aunt Fay Snyder, uncle Sammy Hogan, and many other friends and family.

Bruce had a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a hand, whether it was helping older folks in the community or just being there for those in need. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his family, especially his mother and grandmothers. His solid grasp of the Bible was truly remarkable, and while he felt he wasn't worthy of preaching, his faith shone brightly for all who knew him. It was clear to everyone that Bruce exuded light and kindness.

Not only was Bruce a dedicated family man, but he also worked long hours in the concrete industry, often for little pay, just to ensure that others had what they needed. He ranked in the top 15% in the state with his GED scores, proving that hard work and dedication were always part of who he was. Bruce's spirit of giving and helping others will be deeply missed by many.

A celebration of his life will bring together all those who were touched by his incredible kindness and unwavering faith. Friends and family will gather to honor the legacy of a man whose impact on the lives of others will not be forgotten. Details to be announced
