Obituary

Bruce Alvin Delmas, 79, resident of Athens, TN passed away on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013. He has made Athens his home for the past twenty plus years moving here from New Jersey. Bruce was born in Mile City, Montana on May 25th, 1934 a son of the late George and Ruth Delmas. Bruce was a retired structural iron worker with over thirty five years before retirement from the Local 373 in New Jersey. He was a member of the Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, a mason and member of the Meridian Son Lodge #50, a member of the Athens Elks Lodge, past president of the Chillowee Shrine and active in the McMinn Senior Center. Bruce was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country during the Korean War. His hobbies included playing the guitar, motorcycles and woodworking to name a few.

In addition to his parents Bruce is preceded in death by one sister Beverly and one brother Richard and one grandson Michael Gilluly.

Bruce leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of over thirty years Carolyn Renee Delmas, one daughter Lori Iorio and her husband Sam, one step daughter Lori Cinelli and her husband Jay, one step son Danny Murphy and his wife Claire, eight grandchildren, Johnathan Penn; Taylor and Anthony Cinelli; Casey, Christopher, Katie and Sammy Iorio; and Daniel Liam Murphy. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host if special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Friday, December 27th, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Allen Memorial United Methodist Church located at 800 Decatur Pike in Athens, TN.
