Brenda Sue Gilbert

Brenda Sue Gilbert, 66, a resident of Knoxville, TN and formally of Cleveland, TN passed away on December 29, 2017 at UT Medical Center. She was born on June 18, 1951 in Jasper, TN a daughter of the late Walter “Duck” & Beatrice Rogers. Brenda enjoyed music, crafts and spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dewey Gilbert, and five brothers Sonny, Kelly, Jim, Franklin and Roy Rogers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two children James Sidney Doughten of Knoxville and Desrie Ann Black (Daren) of Cleveland, TN, four grandchildren Clay Doughten, Skyler King and Shania King all of Cleveland and LCPL Hunter King of Camp Pendleton, CA, one great granddaughter Sky King, her beloved fur babies “Cotton Ball” and “Libby”. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home Cleveland with the Reverend Rob Works officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
