Brenda Mae Neill, 63, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Sunday morning, December 10, 2023, in a Knoxville, TN hospital. She was born in Athens, TN on November 16, 1960. She was member of the Sweetwater Church of Christ. Brenda enjoyed gardening, her work in photography but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father Floyd Lee, one sister Deborah Henry and the father of her children Benny Ricker.
Brenda leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband Steve Neill, three children Von Ricker, Jami Ricker and Kevin Ricker, mother Edna Stephens, two step children Leslie Goldman (Eddie) and Ashley Derrick (Matthew), seven grandchildren Austin Goldman, Haley Goldman, Braden Ricker, Olivia Ricker, Jonah Ricker, Joshua Derrick and Ethan Derrick, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN. A service celebrating her life is planned for 6:00 PM on Thursday evening following the visitation time with minister Mark Stevens officiating.
The interment and committal service will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the McMinn Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
