Brenda Barton

Brenda Barton, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A woman of deep faith and a devoted member of the Christian Church of God, Brenda lived a life of kindness and grace.

Brenda found joy in simple pleasures-crocheting beautiful creations, baking treats for those she loved, and spending cherished moments with her family. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, leaving a legacy of love and devotion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl P. Barton; her son, Michael Wilbanks; her brother, Virnie E. Cross Jr.; her parents, Virnie E. Cross Sr. and Gladys Piper; and her great-grandson, Mason P. Wilbanks.

Brenda's memory will be treasured by her surviving family: her sons, James Andrew (Laura) Wilbanks and Rodney Dewayne (Veronica) Wilbanks Sr.; her daughter, Tracy Barton (Scott) Wilson; her siblings, Raymond Castleberry Jr., Theresa (Robert) Luster, Deborah (Richard) Erickson, and Gary (Cindy) Castleberry; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Rikki) Wilbanks, Rodney D. (Tawny) Wilbanks Jr., Cody Wilbanks, Jesse Wilbanks, Michael (Madison) Wilbanks, Avery, Eli, and Lydia Wilson; and her great-grandchildren, Kailyn and Ryder Wilbanks, Star, Skylar, Braelyn Wilbanks, and Baylah Mae. Brenda also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to honor Brenda's life will be held at Lakewood Memorial Gardens South in Rossville, GA, Wednesday December 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Mark Seanor will officiate.
