Bobbye Creasman

January 6, 1934 — November 15, 2023

Bobbye Ware Walker Creasman of Cleveland, TN passed away on November 15, 2023.

Bobbye was born on January 6, 1934 to Arnold Lloyd Ware, Sr. and Alice Ruth Early Ware in Cleveland, TN. She had a happy childhood. She was a feisty little tomboy-in-a-dress type who loved to climb trees and jump off high places. Her mischief was endearing to hear about in later years, but brought plenty of spankings from her mama at the time. After Bobbye graduated from Bradley High School in 1953, she married Jack Walker and went on to raise three children, son Jack Stephen Walker, son Jaime Mitchell Walker, and daughter Brigitte Suzanne Walker Miller. Her first born, Jack Gilbert Walker, Jr. was stillborn, but always remained in her heart.

Bobbye was a great entrepreneur. Her first business endeavor, in the late 60's was a small convenience store on Ladd Springs Road called Walker's Grocery. This was the home of Cleveland's very first self-serve gas and offered fresh, on-the-spot-sliced meats and cheeses along with the regular packaged groceries.

A few years later, she and then-husband Jack sold the business and went a little larger by purchasing Wildwood Quick Check on Wildwood Avenue, which they operated for several years.

Her last business endeavor lasted 30 years. It was a partnership with her daughter in a gift business they purchased in 1990 called The Accent Mark. She loved this business most since it allowed her to use her great talent of decorating and display. She was a natural in this environment. More importantly, countless friendships evolved as a result of co-owning The Accent Mark. Whether it was employees or customers, she became very close to so many in the community.

In the early 80's Bobbye married Merritt Franklin Creasman, Sr. of Cleveland and had a wonderful, happy marriage until his passing in 1990 due to cancer. Then in the early 90's she met Edwin Jurczak, whom she spent many loving years with until his passing from an accidental fall.

Bobbye was also predeceased by her first husband, Jack Walker, her mother and father, Arnold and Alice Ware, sister Irene Ware Givens Creekmore, brother Arnold Ware, Jr, and her first child mentioned above. She is survived by her sister, Norma Ware Pierce Taylor (Al Taylor); her three children, Steve Walker (Shelia), Jaime Walker, and Brigitte Miller; grandchildren Stephanie Walker Chastain Creagan, Andie Miller, Brynnan Miller Cuen, Carly Miller, Justin Walker, Brandon Walker, and Alison Walker Weir; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life drop-in gathering held at Bobbye's home of 42 years, 3511 Edgewood Circle, NW in Cleveland on Sunday, November 26 from 2 until 4, with a memorial tribute beginning at 4 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any organization committed to the eradication of Alzheimer's Disease.
