Obituary

Bobby Massengale, 71, a resident of Fort Oglethorpe, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 at his home. Bobby was born on June 22, 1942 a son of the late Katherine Ridge Massengale. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Community Baptist Church in Apison, TN. Bobby was an honorably discharged veteran of the United State Air Force after faithfully serving his country. He was a sheet metal fabricator for the majority of his life and received his forty year award from the Sheet Metal Union just recently. Bobby was most of all a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his mother Bobby is also preceded in death by his first wife Mary Chadwick Massengale.

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Barbara Elliott Massengale, his father Ray Massengale Sr. of McDonald, TN, one daughter Brenda Cagle and her husband Steve of Chattanooga, TN, step daughter Lisa Smith of Fort Oglethorpe and one step son Wally Smith and wife Pam also of Fort Oglethorpe, one granddaughter Christina Lynn Queen of McDonald, TN, four brothers James Massengale (Marsha), Kenneth Massengale (Nellie), Ronnie Massengale (Jewel) and Ray Massengale Jr (Shelia), several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Community Baptist Church located at 11718 McGhee Road, Apison, TN 37302 with the Reverend Fletcher Farris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time.
