Obituary

Bobby Joe "B.J." Dale, 76 a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Wednesday morning, February 12th, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. B.J. was born in Turtle Town, TN on April 6th, 1937 a son of the late Clyde Thomas and Bonnie Dale. He was of the Seventh-Day Adventist faith. B.J. has made Cleveland his home for the past thirty one plus years relocating here from McMinn County. He was retired from the United States Navy, had served at the Chief of Police for Englewood, TN and also a Deputy Sheriff in McMinn County. He and his wife Peggy owned and operated Yesterday's Treasures and also A1 Treasures locally. B.J. loved antiques and dealing in them. He made many friends doing so in the fact he never met a stranger. Above all, B.J. will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Carol Dale.

B.J. leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of thirty plus years Peggy Shaw Dale, four sons Brian Dale and Tommy Dale both of Athens, TN and also Gary Shaw and Tim Shaw both of Cleveland, two grandchildren Taliyah Shaw and Ernie Shaw, two sisters Annette Miller (Wayne) of South Carolina and Hedy Nance of Cleveland. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday morning, February 17th, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Ladd Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 5860 Bates Pike SE in Cleveland, TN. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Hillcrest Memorial Gardens and will conclude with full military honors. Pallbearers will be his fellow law enforcement officers he served with.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donation be made in B.J.'s memory to either the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
