Bobby Darrell Elliott

Bobby Darrell Elliott, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his residence after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. He was 78 years old. Bobby was born on February 7, 1942, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Bickum and Reba Elliott. He was a member of the Bowman Hills Seventh-day Adventist, a man who loved God, loved serving his church, and believed in the soon coming of Jesus Christ.
Bobby was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served for twelve years. He spent some of that time on the USS Walke during the War in Vietnam. While on the Walke, he made friendships that lasted his entire life. After leaving the military, Bobby worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, bringing his combined years of service to his country to forty-two years.
Bobby loved traveling in his RV. He and his family were able to visit 38 of the contiguous states on their travels. He had a small gun collection and enjoyed shooting at the local range. He was an animal lover his entire life, supporting and adopting from rescue shelters. Most importantly, Bobby loved his family and friends immensely.
Bobby is survived by Linda, his wife, to whom he was married for twenty-seven years; his children, Avionne Christie, Rich (Tammy) Elliott; and grandchildren, Josh Elliott, and Michaela (Jeremy) Stauceanu; his extended family, including many wonderful cousins, and many lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Bowman Hills SDA Church in Cleveland, TN, on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Kingsport at a later date. You may send a message to his family and view the guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com.
