Blond Nicely Floyd, 86, a longtime Cleveland resident, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2020 after a brief illness. She grew up in Knoxville, TN with her parents, Marie and Dewey Nicely and her sisters: Helen Vettle, Irene Ruth, and Virginia Reynolds She attended Knox Central High School and the University of Tennessee She worked in Cleveland at Bachman Memorial Children’s Home, Coppinger & Affiliates, and Stamper’s Furniture. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles Floyd, her three children Terry Sweeney, Shawn Sweeney, Tracy Sweeney, her grandchildren Ben Sweeney (Ashley), Olivia Gravelle (Mark), Haleigh Sweeney, and Cory Dodson; great-grandchildren, McMillan Sweeney, Addison and Hatcher Joseph Gravelle, Maddox Sweeney, and Jagger Cantrell, along with other extended family and friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 5:00pm-6:30pm with the celebration of life ceremony to follow all at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN.
