Obituary

Billy Dewayne Ratcliff, 56, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with the Lord from his home on Friday night, October 10th, 2014. Billy was born on August 18th, 1958 in Cleveland, TN a son of the late Ulice and Della Ratcliff. He was of the Baptist faith. Billy was an avid Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves fan. He also coached women’s softball and played softball for several local teams for many years. Above all, Billy was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters Wanda Beaver, Linda Sue Ratcliff and Wilma Gurley and one brother Donald Ratcliff.

Billy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Sonya Ratcliff, three children Della Ratcliff, Tasha Ratcliff (James S. Dreaden) and Kevin Ratcliff, two step children Sherri Reed and Brandi Monahan (Ken), four grandchildren Lexi Weaverling, Owen Weaverling, Emily Long and Josh Monahan, one brother Richard Ratcliff, three sisters Deanie Truelove (Eddie), Patricia Hampton (Elmer) and Dorothy Webb (Lawrence), several nieces and nephews, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13th, 2014 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday afternoon, October 14th, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with Brian Truelove, Mark Truelove, Jacob Truelove, Shawn Truelove, Colby Truelove and John Hardwick serving as pallbearers.
