Billy Gene Gray, 74, of Cleveland, TN passed away on July 12, 2023. He was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on December 22, 1949 to the late Hubert and Shirley Gray. Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He taught himself how to play guitar by ear, he loved watching golf and was a huge “Classic” country music fan. Bill spent many years volunteering with various veteran’s organizations in Bradley County. He was a former Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 25 and served on the Honor Guard with the American Legion Post 81.
In addition to his mother and father, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Becky Gray; his stepfather Estelle “Bud” Fugett and brother Edward Vollrath.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Stacey (James) Ridgell, Amanda “Mandy” (Matthew) Peticolas, James “Jimmy” (China) Gray; grandchildren Jeni (Mason) Boomer, Cera Peticolas, Dakota (Kody) Peticolas, and Amber Ridgell; siblings: Maurice Gray, Bob(Janet) Gray, Tim (Janice) Gray, Sister: Ora (Larry) Berg.
Bill’s family will receive friends on Friday July 21st at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home from 10am until 12pm. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 12pm with burial to follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
