Obituary
Billy C. Trotter Sr., 71, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Billy was born in Warner Robins, GA on June 19th, 1942 a son of the late William and Texi Trotter, He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Harmony Baptist church in Benton, TN. Billy graduated from Bradley Central High School and also Cleveland State Community College. Billy was an honorable discharged veteran of the United States Army. He worked and retired after over 28 years of service from the Charleston Hosiery Company. Billy was an avid softball fan and worked for many years as a scorekeeper with the local umpires and scorekeepers association.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter Connie Trotter, two sons William Robert Trotter and James Wilbur Trotter, three sisters Mildred Key, Mary Ruth Newberry and Mattie Lee Hammonds and two brothers Jimmy Trotter and Danny Trotter.
Billy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of forty two years Mary Frances Casson Trotter, daughters Carla Ware (Jay) and Rhonda Valdovinos (Roger), one son Anthony Trotter (fiancée Stacy Pike), eight grandchildren; Meredith Herring, Dakota Trotter, Alexis Valdovinos, Madison Ware, Ashton Valdovinos, Abbigayle Trotter, Hayden Haney and Noland Haney and two great grandchildren Paisley Herring and Sophie Herring. He is also survived by three brothers Ray Trotter (Mary Frances) of Macon, GA, Johnny Trotter of Benton, TN and Tommy Trotter (Kim), one sister-in-law Ina Trotter, several nieces, nephews, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday night, January 21st, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Philippi Baptist Church located at 2484Harrison Pike W in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend John Cain and Dr. Sammy Hooker officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday morning, January 22nd, at 11:00 AM in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery and will conclude with full military honors.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donation be made to the family to help offset the medical bills of Billy and also Mary Frances.
