Bill Benjamin Mctaggart

Bill Benjamin McTaggart, 72, of Benton, TN passed away on Saturday July 16, 2016. Ben was a U.S. Army Viet Nam Veteran, where he served as a truck driver providing supplies, ammunition, and other items that were needed for all the operations and maintenance of a fighting unit. He was a truck driver before his stint in Viet Nam. When released from military service he maintained his career as a trucker. He was a lifelong truck driver who worked for companies in Cleveland, TN, Newnan, Ga. Among other places like Houston, TX as a long haul driver and his family lived in Pasadena, TX.

He was preceded in death by his father Bunyon Adam McTaggart & Mother Elfrieda A. Slack McTaggart, a great nephew Jesse Hunter McTaggart, a nephew Eddie McTaggart and a much loved & greatly missed 1st cousin Gladys Helen Richardson (Lennis Edward) Bates and brother Dewayne McTaggart.

He is survived by his wife of 38 plus years Josette Brown McTaggart. Two daughters from a previous marriage: Sheron Annette McTaggart Villanueva (Benito) of Cleveland, TN and 4 grandchildren: Cindy Villanueva a great grandson: Layton Renfro, Judy Villanueva (Josh) Hembree and 2 great grandchildren: Bryson and Alexis Hembree all of Cleveland, TN, Joseph Villanueva of Cleveland, TN and 2 great grandchildren: Hunter Lynn Villanueva and Conner Villanueva both of Benton, TN and Bridget Villanueva of Benton, TN. Vicky Jerane McTaggart (Troy) Cannon of Benton, TN. Three grandchildren Christopher James (Lara) McTaggart of Benton, TN, John Colton (Jessica) Cannon of Cleveland, TN , and Amber Nicole (Ann) Cannon of Colo. Unofficially adopted son: Jeff (Sheila) Dunn, sisters Patricia Ann McTaggart Wilson Davis (Michael) of Cleveland, TN, Mary Ellen McTaggart (James Bo) Morris of Benton, TN and a brother James Edward (Judy) McTaggart. Best friend Jerry and (Unofficial adopted sister) Vicky Dacus Daily, Clayton Phillips (friend for 34 years) of Dalton, GA, his stepson Jeffery Alan (Christy) Lewis of Cleveland, TN, four granddaughters: Kristilyn Lewis Peterson (Blake) of Wofford, TX, Rachael Lewis, Cheyenne Bell, and Eva Lewis all of Cleveland, TN; two grandsons: Alan Lane Lewis of TX and Jerrod Allen Bell of Cleveland, TN, uncle S.L. McTaggart of Memphis, TN.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the 6:00pm service time.

Interment will take place at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 10:00am on Thursday July 21, 2016.
