Beverly Denise Landers

Beverly Denise Landers, 51, of Niota, passed away on July 31, 2023 at her home after a long battle with cancer.  She fought valantly and never lost her positive attitude.  As a life long resident of McMinn County she was a graduate McMinn County High School and Cleveland State Community College.  She was also a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church in Athens.  Beverly was employed as an accountant for Montery Mushroom.

She was a lover of nature and all it's animals.  She brought home strays and injured animals all of her life.  Beverly loved flowers and "playing in the dirt" as she called it.  But more than anything, she loved making crafts and spending time with her grandsons.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Wesley Meghan Cates and J.R. Cates of Alcoa; her two precious grandsons, Xander and Ryder Cates; mother, Dinah Fleming of Niota and grandmother, Edna Cornett of Maryville.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Steven Edward Landers of Athens; step father Gregory Fleming of Niota; grandparents, Conley and Nellie Dennis of Athens, and Ralph Cornett of Etowah.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at 105 Sweetwater Church Road, Sweetwater, TN.  

We would love for you to join us in remembering Beverly, a wonderful mother, daughter and friend.  We will be providing food and beverages.  We do ask that you bring your own chair to sit in.  Please reach out if there is any additional questions about the event.
