Betty Sneed

Obituary
Betty Sneed, 83, a resident of Cleveland passed away on Friday afternoon, January 18th, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Betty was born October 4th, 1929 in Cartersville, IL a daughter of the late Dwight Smith and Elena Smith Ealy. Betty married her husband Jimmie Sneed on September 14, 1957. During their life together along with making Cleveland home they have also lived for periods of time in California and St. Louis, MO. Betty was very active in disaster relief efforts working closely with the local Bradley Baptist Chapter. She has helped in many relief efforts such as Katrina and many others. She had just returned from a trip to New York in efforts to help the victims of hurricane Sandy. Betty was instrumental in starting the puppet ministry Clingan Ridge Baptist Church where she was a long time member. During a seven year period she took many mission trips to Honduras sharing the puppet ministry with those abroad. Betty was also a member of Heart String musical group. Above all, Betty is remembered and will be forever missed for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents Betty is preceded in death by one son James Cunningham, two sisters Margaret Camarato and Barbara Kruger, and one brother Bill Smith.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Jimmie, one son and daughter-in-law Tim and Dottie Sneed, six grandchildren Leeann Parris, Emily (Gerry) Anderson, Rachel (David) Kohn, Dwight Cunningham, Tim Cunningham, and Eric Cunningham, nine great grandchildren and a host of other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Monday, January 21st, at 11:00 AM at the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland TN with the Reverend Lamar Dietz and the Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jerry Johnston, Dale Sneed, Jerry Lance, Jackie Parris, Johnny Davis, Danny Poole and Ron Black serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, January 20th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.
