Betty Marie Stafford

Betty Marie Stafford, 77, a lifelong resident of this area passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at her home in Etowah, TN. She was born in Decatur, TN on January 12, 1943 a daughter of the late John & Lottie Hicks.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Larry Stafford, one grandson Timothy Green and several siblings.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters and their spouses Joan Green (Cleaston Taylor), Patricia Austin (Joe) and Faye Wheeler (Rodney Allred), six grandchildren Christy McRae (Brandon), Brittany Fairbanks (Jonathon), Ashley Austin, Ronald Wheeler (Savannah Lunsford), Morgan Taylor (Ashley) and Keisha Wright (Gunner), elven great grandchildren Mia, Cameron, Briston & Declan McRae, Tyson & Ellasyn Fairbanks, Lexi & Sadie Hollingsworth, Ethan & Tyler Wright and Gus Lunsford, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 4-8 PM and also Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 4-8 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home.
A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home with the interment to follow in the Beta Cemetery in Decatur, TN with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
