Betty Krafft

August 24, 1942 — March 21, 2025

Betty Jean (Ware) Krafft, a long-time resident of Cleveland, Tennessee went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday morning, March 21, 2025.

She was born in Roanoke, West Virginia on August 24, 1942. She was a 35-year educator and spent 30 wonderful years teaching at Mayfield Elementary in Cleveland. As a teacher, Betty touched many lives, both those of her students and many of their parents.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Patty) Krafft Benson of Chattanooga; her prides and joys grandson, Andrew Stephen Benson and great-grandson Lyam Andrew Benson of Cleveland; sister, Karen (Ware) Pawlus of Grafton, Ohio; several precious nieces and nephews; many friends, former students, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie Coy Ware and Mary Emaline (Lewis) Ware; brother Clyde Ware & sister-in-law Martha (Krafft) Ware; sister Thelma (Ware) Crites & brother-in-law Scott Crites; brother Elbern Ware & sister-in-law Melba (Williston) Ware; brother Raymond Ware & sister-in-law Sally (Woods) Ware; brother Eugene Ware & sister-in-law Shirley (MacMahon) Ware; sister Sharon (Ware) Dick; brother-in-law John Pawlus; and son-in-law Stephen Benson.

She was a 52-year member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and church librarian. Betty's self-sacrificing life focused on serving her Savior, teaching and mentoring many children, and providing love and guidance to her family. She will be missed by so many, but we rejoice in the knowledge that we WILL see her again one day!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church at 11:00 am, with Pastor Michael Cawood officiating.
