Betty Hutchings

Betty Hutchings, 84, of Cleveland passed peacefully on May 16th with her daughter by her side. Born in Sparta, Tennessee on September 18th, 1936, Betty was the daughter of Frank B. Carter and Novella Hattie Frazier. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Boyd H. Hutchings, her son Boyd Alan “Hutch” Hutchings, her three sisters Jean Padgett, Linda Broyles, and Frances Jolley, and her beloved dog, Molly B. who brought her so much joy in this life. She is survived by her daughter, Erica M. Hutchings of Washington D.C

Betty was a life-long member of Hopewell Baptist Church and she loved and cherished her circle of friends there. She had an unwavering faith in God and Jesus. No matter how dark times got, she would always say “it will all work out if we pray about it”. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, old-time gospel music, coloring, and her greatest passion was reading. She always had a book by her side. We will all miss her sweet nature and gentle spirit.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hearth Hospice, Morningside of Cleveland, and Bradley Healthcare who took such good care of her. A special thanks is also extended to every friend who touched her life.

A Graveside service will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Guinn Green officiating.

There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home
