Benny Ray Walden

Benny Ray Walden, 76 of Niota TN went home to be with the Lord Jesus at 10:45 am on Sunday March 22, 2020. He is the son of the late Ed and Mae Walden and the brother of the late Cliff Walden and Nick Walden. Ray was a gentle giant of a man. He always had a smile and a kind word. He worked at Morgan Manufacturing for 30 years as a sewing machine mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joann Strickland Walden and his children and their spouses, Diane and Rex King of Niota, Darrell and Sandra Walden of Niota, Brenda Walden of Sweetwater, and Barry and Heather Walden of Niota. Grandchildren are Kayla and Terry Ledford of Athens, Kevin King of Niota, Justin Walden of Nashville, Christina Walden, Luke Walden, and Isaiah Walden of Niota. He is also survived by his brothers Eddie Walden, Troy and Margaret Walden, David and Martha Walden, and Mike Walden, all of Niota, and his sister Linda and Lee Johnson of Englewood, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private graveside service at this time. They will announce a memorial service at some date in the future when it is safer for family and friends to gather.
