In Loving Memory of Benny Ray Hunter Sr.

Benny Ray Hunter Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at his home in Chickamauga, Georgia. Born on August 30, 1939, in Lafayette, Georgia, Benny lived a life dedicated to hard work, love, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Benny's humble beginnings cultivated within him a strong work ethic and determination. Though he never obtained a high school diploma, Benny's unwavering commitment to providing for his family led him to forge a successful career as a truck driver for PB&S Chemicals. Over the years, he traversed countless miles, navigating the open roads with skill and perseverance.

Beyond his professional life, Benny cherished the bonds he formed with his loved ones. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Anna Hunter, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Benny's presence brought joy and stability to his beloved son, Travis, and daughter-in-law, Heather Tucker. His deep love for his family was further exhibited through the special bond he shared with his grandchildren: Jade and Kain McCown, Camerone Tucker, Harley Tucker, Daisha Bryson, Sydney Reyna, Tristen Tucker, Hunter Tucker and Ryan Tucker, who were the light of his life.

Benny, known for his warm smile, kind heart, and enduring spirit, touched the lives of many. His compassionate nature showed no bounds, extending his care and friendship to his siblings, Bobby Faye Morton, Larry and Dixie Hunter, and Carla and Arlen Chapman, who will forever cherish his memory. Benny left an indelible mark on the lives of his sister-in-law, Kathi Haney, sister-in-law, Mary Jo Sitton, and brother-in-law, Fred Miller.

Having served his country with pride, Benny's dedication to his fellow citizens extended to his time in the Army. Enlisting on June 30, 1965, Benny honorably served his country until his discharge on June 29, 1967. His bravery and commitment will forever be remembered.

In accordance with Benny's wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated. Family and friends will have a memorial at a later date.

The loss of Benny Ray Hunter Sr. leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift us all. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
