Obituary
Beatrice Walker “Granny Bea” Stansberry, 88, a lifelong resident of Charleston, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, February 26th, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 16, 1924 a daughter of the late Perry and Callie Walker. Granny Bea was very devoted to her church and taking care of her family whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husbands George A. Harris and William L. Stansberry, two daughters Mary Jane “Janie” Stansberry and Nita Ruth Stansberry. She is also preceded in death by several siblings.
Granny Bea leaves behind to cherish her memory eight daughters Brenda Barnett (Stanley) of Old Fort, TN, Wanda Schultz (George) of Charleston, TN, Wilma Shelton (Roy) of Calhoun, TN, Linda Watson (Gary Bishop) of Charleston, TN, Jeanette Shope (Chris) of Charleston, TN, Carolyn Williams (Mitchell) of Coolidge, GA, Cathy Marr (Danny) of Cleveland, TN and Genia Stokes of Charleston, TN, three sons Jerry Harris (Carolyn) of Decatur, TN, Gary Harris (Connie) of Greer, SC and Terry Stansberry (Melody) also of Greer, SC, twenty three grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, five great great grandsons. She is also survived by two brothers J. D. Walker (Wilma) of Langston, AL and Frank Walker (Cherie) of California and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday afternoon, March 1st, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Bellefounte Baptist Church located at 132 Bellefounte Road NE in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Grady Simpson and the Reverend Kenneth Stansberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jerry Harris, Gary Harris, Terry Stansberry, Stan Barnett, Steven Dockery and Jamey Stansberry serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday night, February 28th, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also on Friday one hour prior to the 2:00 PM service time.
