Basil Lee Trigger, age 71, passed away on February 13 ,2025, surrounded by his family in his Cleveland, TN home. He was born on September 24, 1953, in Washington, DC, and grew up in Rollins Fork, VA. He graduated from Washington and Lee High School in Montross, VA. In 1975, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS Sumter LST.
Basil later spent much of his life in Saint Petersburg, FL, where he married his loving wife, Ann, on May 1, 1983. He was a proud father and enjoyed raising his two children. He had a passion for outdoors, particularly deer hunting and snook fishing. His smile could light up a room, and his salsa recipe was so delicious that it probably still has people dancing in the kitchen. In recent years, Basil cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and was affectionately known as a "baby whisperer".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Walter Basil Trigger and Betty Jo Trigger, and siblings Roy Trigger and Betty Martin. He is survived by his wife Ann Trigger, his children Brett Trigger (Jessica Latham) and Megan Lavinghousez (William Lavinghousez), and grandchildren Adalynn Trigger, Branson Trigger, Madison Lavinghousez , Liam Lavinghousez, and Weston Lavinghousez.
Memorial Service will be held at The Chapel Cleveland, 2412 Wolfe Dr. NW Cleveland, TN 37312 on Tuesday 02/18/25. Visitation with family will be held from 2:00PM and memorial service will start at 3:00PM.
