On Friday, November 24, Heaven received a wonderful, beautiful treasure in Barbie Watson. Known for spreading joy and showing kindness, Barbie loved people well. She strived to be a Christ-like example and was a true blessing to those who knew her.
Barbie's parents were the late Arlen and Edith Dotson. A graduate of Bradley Central High School, Barbie was employed most recently by the Cleveland Police Department and previously by Blue Ridge Pulmonary Medicine. She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God for 28 years. During that time, she served in the children's ministry, student ministry, and as a life group leader.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory "the loves of her life", her husband, Steve Watson; and her daughter, Summer Watson both of Cleveland; siblings, Mike Dotson, Pat and Maryellen Dotson of McAlester, Oklahoma, Emmett and Lilia Dotson of Cleveland, Pete and Yvonna Dotson of Cleveland, Phil and Robin Dotson of Cleveland, and Beth Dotson of Cleveland; her In-laws Raymond and Judy Watson of Coker Creek, Tim and Amy Watson of Cleveland, Tony and Carla Watson of Delano; "three special friends", Rebekah Moon of Killeen, Texas, Teresa Henderson of Cleveland, and Lacy Wilcox of Cleveland; along with a host of numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family in Tennessee, West Virginia, and Ohio, all of whom she dearly loved.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Mt. Olive Church of God with pastor James Sears and Pastor Russell Hall officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm prior to the service.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Barbie or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
