Obituary
Barbara J. Bittner, 88, a current resident of Hixson, TN passed away on Sunday, December 8th, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Barbara was born on August 11th, 1925 in Greenfield, Iowa a daughter of the late Erwin & Bertha Clure. She relocated to the Nashville, TN in 1958 and lived there until recently moving to Hixson, TN to be near her daughter Janet. She was a member of the Hillwood Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
In addition to her parents Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Fredrick J. Bittner.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters Janet Giddings and husband Douglas of Hixson, TN and Karen Wehner and husband Paul of Bluffton, SC, one son Richard and wife Elizabeth Bittner of Walnut Creek, CA, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Wednesday December 11th, 2013 at 12:00 PM CST at the Hillwood Presbyterian Church located at 6220 Hickory Valley Road in Nashville, TN 37205 with the Reverend Dr. Richard F. Rouquie Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Middle Tennessee National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM CST until the 12:00 PM CST service time.
