Obituary
Arthur Milton Cox, 84, a resident of Chattanooga passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2012 at his residence with his loving wife by his side. Arthur was born on July 19, 1929 in Rome, GA a son of the late Edgar and Dessie Cox. Arthur was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Episcopal faith. Arthur served his country in the United States Army and was awarded the Victory Medal. He worked for many years and retired from TVA as a draftsman. However, he will be most remembered for being a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sisters Pansey Ellis and Lucy Gallaher, and three brothers Philip Cox, Howard Cox, and Henry Cox.
Arthur leaves here to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 64 years Helen Forrester Cox, one daughter Jane Sherrill and husband David of Hendersonville, NC and one son Glen Cox of Chattanooga, TN, three grandchildren David Sherrill Jr. (Fillamay) of Bowling Green, OH, Adam Sherrill of Hendersonville, NC, and Brandon Ricketts of Chattanooga, TN, three great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A private family interment will take place at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
