Arnold Zint Guy, 78 a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at UT Medical Center. He was born on September 14, 1939 in Polk County Tennessee a son of the late Richard & Frankie Guy. Arnold loved riding his motorcycle, enjoyed fishing trips, hunting, farming and gardening. He was no stranger to hard work, having owned his own roofing company for 33 years. Arnold was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Montgomery Guy, six brothers Brawner, Morris, Winston, Hoyt, Homer and Myles Guy and two sisters Retta McClure and Florence Perkins.
Arnold leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Mark Guy and wife Debbie and Shane Guy and his wife Amanda, five grandchildren Brett, Magi, Manon, Cooper and Holland Guy, one sister Wilma Ogle, his loving friend and companion Mary Harris and her family. Many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and a host of special friends also survive.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, November 29, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home. A graveside service is planned for Thursday morning, November 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. The funeral procession is scheduled to leave Companion Funeral Home at 10:15 AM on Thursday morning. Mark Guy, Shane Guy, Jim Guy, David Guy, Cooper Guy and Brett Guy will serve as pallbearers. The graveside service will begin with full Military Honors in recognition of Arnold’s service to our country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society in Arnold’s memory.
