Arminta Belle “Min” Oates, 94, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2020 at her home. She was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on May 20, 1925. Min had made Athens her home for 27 years. She was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy after faithfully serving her country during WWII. Min was a member of the Athens Lutheran Church. She was known for her caring, generous and giving spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lee & Grace Teter, two sons Charles Lee Oates and Ronald Keith Oates and one sister Dorothy Lee Teter.
Min leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Charlotte Gibson (Randall) of Canton, GA, one son Brian Bart Oates Sr., one grandson Brian Bart Oates Jr., numerous other extended family members, church family and host of special friends.
In honor of her wishes, there will be no public service here locally, however her cremains will be interred in the Georgia National Cemetery.
