Arlen Bumbalough

Arlen "Chuk" Charles Bumbalough, 56, passed away on May 13, 2025.

Chuk was a man of many passions and talents. A gifted musician, he found joy in playing both the guitar and bass. He was also a creative writer, having authored several books that reflected his unique perspective and imagination.

Chuk had a deep love for the open road, often riding his motorcycle with a sense of freedom that defined his spirit. A lifelong enthusiast of Nerf guns, he took great pride in collecting, customizing, and modifying them-always with a touch of playful innovation.

Known for his sharp wit and endless supply of "dad jokes," Chuk was a natural comedian who could light up any room. He had a special fondness for all things spooky and embraced the Halloween season with unmatched enthusiasm.

Chuk was also a passionate home cook, constantly experimenting with new recipes-though he lovingly admitted he could never quite master Marsha's apple pie.

More than anything, Chuk was a devoted father and grandfather. His love for his family was the heart of who he was, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chuk is preceded in death by his by his mother, Arlene Walden; and Grandparents, Arlen and Louise Cole.

Survivors include his soul mate of 26 years, Marsha Coram; Children, Kyla Bumbalough, Stephen Dees, Thorn (Autumn) Bumbalough, and Tobi Bumbalough; grandson, Keaton Bunch; granddaughter, Ryan Bunch; father, Jerry Bumbalough; siblings on his father's side, Kathy Wall and Linda Hall; siblings on mother's side, Greg Bumbalough, Mark Walden (Amanda), Dionne Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24th from 2:00-4:00pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens.
