Anna Jean Stratton

March 2, 1926 — April 12, 2019

Anna "Jean" Stratton, 93 passed on Friday April 12, 2019 peacefully in her home in Cleveland. She was the daughter of Albert and Maude Toomey of Etowah. After moving to Cleveland when she was 20 she worked for the Cleveland City School System for 42 years in the Central Office. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church where she loved, and shared her faith in her savior Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Stratton, her parents and her Granddaughter Shannon Childers. She is survived by her son Ron and her much loved sister Virginia Henderson, both of Knoxville, nieces Connie Hutchins, Ann Almond Pope, and nephew Charles Almond, grandson Shaun Childers and his wife Dianne and six great grandsons from Midland, TX. Jean had a special friend and caregiver Sherry Harris who was with her for the last 6 years. Many will remember Jean from their store "Harshbarger-Stratton" downtown Cleveland.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, April 17th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with service at 1:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN. The internment will take place following the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, TN.
