Anita Mae Neal

Anita Mae Neal, 71, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2019 at Sweetwater Hospital. She was born in Albion, IL on March 3, 1948 a daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine Barber. Anita was an active member of the Athens Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved reading but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother George Barber and one sister Carolyn Young.
Anita leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 47 years Henry Neal, one son Michael Neal, one daughter Cathy Greene and her husband Mitchell, two grandchildren Emily Greene and Matthew Greene, three sisters Helen Deaton (Danny), Donna Green and Goldie Thomas (Charles), numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, August 30, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Athens Nazarene Church located at 1908 W. Madison Avenue in Athens.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Athens Nazarene Church with Pastor David Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the McMinn Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
