Andrew "A.J." Stinnett

Andrew Jackson Stinnett, affectionately known as "A.J." passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, at a health care facility in Dayton, TN. Born on July 9, 1944, in Cleveland, TN.

Known for his love of ball games, A.J. served as an umpire and referee for basketball and softball, showcasing his passion for sports. He was a dedicated family man, surviving by his sons, Danny (Tinia) Stinnett and Dean (Amy) Stinnett, and his brother Billy (Drusilla) Stinnett.

A.J. was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Shirlyn Stinnett and parents Alfred Stinnett and Stella Stinnett.

Among those left to cherish his memory are a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to A.J.'s life. Grandchildren: Daniel Stinnett (Beth), Whitney Crisp, Amber Stinnett, Kamea Stinnett, Kyra Woody (Michael), Brooklyn Stinnett, Kynlei Stinnett, Kaiya Stinnett, Tiffani Stamper (Lucas), Kimberly Griswold (Cody), Jill Sipe (Nick); great grandchildren: Madison, Avery, Jack, Josh, John, Rayelyn, Sutton, and Audrianna.

The funeral service to celebrate A.J.'s life will be held at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service in Cleveland on Friday April 19, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place on Thursday  April 18, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00pm at the same location. He will be laid to rest following the service at Benton Memorial Gardens.
