Alma Maxine Pelfrey Spitzer, 66, a resident of Sweetwater, TN passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at her home. She was born in Dayton, TN on February 18, 1955.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ola Jackson Pelfrey and Lenis D. Bridwell Pelfrey, two sisters Leona Pelfrey Bennett and Shirley Pelfrey McLane and three brothers Glen Pelfrey, Reverend Hubert W. Pelfrey and Charles O. Pelfrey.
Maxine leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 34 years Ivan Jerome Spitzer Sr., one son Ivan Jerome Spitzer Jr., two brothers Lonnie Pelfrey and David Pelfrey, two sisters Christine Pelfrey Gunner and Hazel Pelfrey Hughes Kalb, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other extended family members and a host of special friends.
Maxine, you were a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and aunt. We love you with all our hearts and if we live for God and Jesus, Maxine, we will see you again in Heaven someday.
A service celebrating her life is planned for Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street with the Reverend Delbert Humphrey officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal will follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park with James Goodman, James Miller, Jamie Hughes, Charles Gunter, Jeff Pelfrey, Nicholas Knox, Billy Barry & Hayden Thornton serving as pallbearers.
