Alma Brown

Alma Brown, 62, a resident of Athens, TN transitioned to her Heavenly home on Thursday evening, September 10, 2020 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was born in Calhoun, TN on September 21, 1957 a daughter of the late Thomas & Magnolia McDermott. She was an avid reader and loved watching Jeopardy. Alma was always a source of the family’s entertainment and life of the party.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three siblings Robert Johnson, Karen McDermott and Raymond McDermott.
Alma leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Roy Brown, four children Latoya Ware, Russell, Roy Jr.(Carolyn) and Ryan (Katherine) Brown, one sister Linda Morris, one brother Michael (Tina) McDermott, first granddaughter Q’Netria LaChez Brown, numerous other much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren, a host of other extended family members, two special friends Simon Ware and Sonya Deon Cox, her Ryan’s work family and countless friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street. A memorial service celebrating her life will begin at 5:00 PM.
