Alice F. Griffin passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Cleveland, TN. Prior to
that she had been a resident of Cleveland for almost the past 20 years. She was also a member of the Wesley
Memorial United Methodist Church on Peerless Avenue. She was born in Canandaigua, NY on January 4, 1933 to
the late Raymond and Isabelle (Lyle) Jenkins. Preceding her in death beside her parents includes her husband
Harold W. Griffin Jr., her sister Tula J. Davis, and her youngest son Mark Andrew Hazlett.
Alice is survived by her immediate family; son Thomas Alan Hazlett and his spouse Rhonda (Smith) of Cleveland, TN
and son Rev. Dr. Timothy Dwight Hazlett and spouse Lori (Fenton) of Chesapeake, VA. She is also survived by her
grandchildren: Bryon A. Hazlett and spouse Olivia (Graff), Britney M. Hazlett and partner Matthew Gillenwater,
Alex F. Hazlett, and Andrew F. Hazlett; as well as two great-granddaughters, Paislie Hope Scott, and Brodie Roslyn
Gillenwater.
Alice’s life career was in nursing where she attained Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in both New York and Florida.
Her specialization was in intensive care where she worked up to ICU Charge Nurse at Medina Memorial Hospital in
Medina, NY.
A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at a later time. Alice will be interred
with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
