Alfred Tankersley

Alfred R. "Bucky" Tankersley, 82, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, TN passed away on Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was born in Meigs County on March 20, 1941, a son of the late Alfred & Miona Tankersley. Bucky was retired from Bowater paper manufacturing in Calhoun, TN. He was of the Baptist faith and attended New Liberty Baptist Church. Bucky was an honorable discharge Vietnam veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He was an avid UT Vols fan and enjoyed camping, traveling but most of all spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Ruth Woody Tankersley.

Bucky leaves behind to cherish is his memory his only son and daughter in law David & Jeanette Tankersley, his companion and dear friend Brenda Wolfe, his four-legged companion "Zoey", numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, November 14, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland.

A service celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Companion Funeral Home chapel in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Ken Herring and Alex Wells officiating.

The interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will conclude the graveside service in honor of Bucky's service to his country.
