Obituary

Alfred Lee Lawson, 84, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones, Thursday, March 20, 2014. He was a steadfast and loyal man; generous and gentle. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School. He worked as an avionics technician for most of his life in many parts of the world. He was a hard-working Husband, Father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Essie Jay Lawson; brothers: Junior and Bill Lawson; sisters: Aubara Loggins and his twin Alberta Bea Lawson all of Cleveland, TN; in-laws: Henry and Nellie May of Cleveland., Shirly Ruth May of Maryville, TN., Bob May of Cleveland, Vernon Sommers of Valley Falls, KA, Bill Spence of Cleveland, and Kenneth Griffin of Cleveland, TN.

Survivors include his Wife of 64 years Betty Lawson; Children: daughters; Susan Griffin and Kimberly Lawson and son Peter Lawson; sister and brother-in-law; Barbera and T.A. Hicks and sister Geniveve Ledford, grandchildren: Jennifer Rayburn, Joshua Lawson, Alex Lawson, and Colden Corvin; great-grandchildren Michael Rayburn, all of CLeveland, TN.; in-laws: Jim and Joann May of cleveland, Bill May of Maryville, Shirly Burke May of Cleveland, Mary Jenkins of Sterling, VA, Martha Sommers of Valley Falls, KA, Linda Taylor of Cleveland, Carol Spence of Cleveland, Grace and Jim McGuffin of Simpsonville, SC, Margaret McClary of Cleveland, and Joy and Bo Renner of Cleveland; and many loved nieces, nephews.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
