Aleshia Coaxum

Aleshia Marie Shutt-Coaxum was born to Gary and Teresa Shutt on April 19, 1986, in Cleveland, Tennessee. She was educated in Bradley County Schools.

Aleshia met and married Christopher Coaxum on February 21, 2009, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. In December of 2009, the couple relocated to Columbia, South Carolina. On August 14, 2013, they welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Jakobi Antonio Coaxum. In the winter of 2016, the happy family returned to Aleshia's hometown of Cleveland where loved ones and friends surrounded them. She loved shopping, roller skating, cooking, her cats (Chance, Rue, and Milo) and best of all, she loved spending quality time with her family, particularly her son, Jakobi.

Preceded in death by grandparents John and Olean Shutt, and JC and Willie Mae Payne.

On August 4, 2024, at the age of 38, Aleshia found her rest from her long fight with cancer. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Christopher Coaxum, son, Jakobi Antonio Coaxum, parents, Gary Teresa Shutt, brother, Daniel, two aunts, Linda and Cathy, a special niece and nephew, Austin and Sadie, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Aleshia will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home's Mack Shelton Parlor located at 2422 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM.
