Alan Neal Boyd, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, born October 4,1956, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025.
Alan was a loving son, brother, father, and husband. Anyone who knew him knew Alan was THE BEST bass player in town.
Aside from working at Life Care Center of America, Alan was also an exceptional musician, he taught himself how to play the bass at the age of 13! In his free time, he was always learning new songs or simply playing for fun. Alan would spend the weekends playing in the band, he played at The Gov's, The Rock and County Club, The American Legion and others. Alan had a great group of band friends; he may also be known as "AL Boyd".
Alan was a Cleveland High School graduate class of 1975. After high school, he graduated college with his associate's degree in applied science and was a computer programmer for 15 plus years.
Alan was proceeded in death by his father Richard S Boyd Jr., his mother, Barbra Duff Boyd.
Survived by his wife Melanie Boyd; his children ShaLynn Boyd (Brycen Murray), JaCobe Boyd (Amanda Maddox), Javin Boyd (Morgan Brandenburg), and Malaya Boyd; Alan's beloved grandchildren Bryson Boyd, Kobe Boyd, and Kinsley Boyd. Also surviving siblings Rick Boyd, Scott Boyd, Diane Boyd Beckler (Tommy Beckler); many nieces, nephews, and even great-nieces and nephews.
We will accept family and friends at Companion Funeral Home, Shelli Cody Sanctuary on Friday April 18,2025; 2:00-4:00 pm, with the service immediately following.
Alan was a remarkable person. His legacy and love will continue to live on forever. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who had the privilege of knowing Alan. Your connection with him, in both quiet moments and shared memories, brought great meaning to his life. Thank you for being a part of his journey. May your soul rest easy, surrounded by the love and peace you so richly deserve. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
