Wilma Florene Mcconnell

Wilma Florene McConnell, 89, of Cleveland, TN passed away on August 23, 2018. She was born on September 2, 1928 to the late L.C. and Nettie Mikel. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. She loved to travel and spending time with her girls. She worked at American Uniform for 34 years.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years John Hubert McConnell; sisters Juanita Geren, Dorothy Ledford, and Helen Thompson; son in law Roy Davis.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters: Carolyn Davis of Cleveland, Phyllis Murphy (Ron) of The Villages, FL, and Donna Harris (Eddie) of Harrison, TN; grandchildren: Lauren England (Montzell) and Julie Hoover (Jimmy); great grandchildren: Brayla England, Grayson England, Maddie Hoover, and J.T. Hoover. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Sunday August 26, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The family would also like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga and Family Home Services for all the loving care they took of Ms. McConnell.
