William Ulysses Burris

William Ulysses Burris, 95, went home to be with the Lord Monday 9, 2020 at Life care of Cleveland, TN. He was a lifelong resident of Bradley County, a devout Christian, and loved the Lord.
He traveled with the Singing Echoes & the Looper family. He retired from Brown Stove. He imitated Donald Duck’s voice, enjoyed fishing, bowling, yardwork, and helping people. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife of 71 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milburn and Cora Mae Burris; brothers, Austin and Richard Burris, of Benton, TN and O’Neal Green od Ten Mile; sisters, Mary Cleo (Johnny) McDonald, Mildred (Earl) Dills, Dorothy (Earnest) Gray, Edna Mae Brown, all of Benton, TN; caregiver, Peggy June “June-bug” Kimsey, of Cleveland, TN.
He is survived by his Wife of 71 years, Iva Mae Burris; one sister JoAnn Cronan; one sister-in-law Dorothy Burris, and one brother-in-law Robert (Buster) Brown all of Benton, Tn; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 12:30-2:30 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home and the service will begin at 2:30 PM with Rev. Joe Hatcher, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Mausoleum. Pallbearers are Jason Pennell, Zac Burris, Charlie Burris, Ron Davis, Michael Gray, Justin Burris and honorary pall bearer David Burris.
