William Ted Hall

October 25, 1936 — August 15, 2021

William Harrison “Ted” Hall, 84 of Cleveland, TN went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 15, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Born October 25, 1936 in Frostproof, FL and graduated from Frostproof High School, he called Cleveland his home. A man of many talents, while in high school he played football and baseball but was most known for his skills as a musician and singer. As an accomplished singer, God led him to Cleveland where he spent time at the University of TN and Tennessee Wesleyan College, and also attended Lee College where he met the love of his life, Hope Carroline (Kinser) Hall. While at Lee College, Ted majored in Music and was involved in many musical endeavors including the Lee College Male Quartet, the Continental Quartet, soloist for many events and interim music director.
Ted was a member of North Cleveland Church of God where he attended the Unity Sunday School class and served in various capacities as song director (Unity), usher, various councils and was active in the Crusader Choir, Senior Adult Quartet and Peacemakers.
After college, Ted pursued a life-long career in the grocery industry working for John Morrell Meat Co. and M.C. Headrick Supermarkets. He eventually built and operated Hall’s Parkway Supermarket but is most widely known for his time at Cooke’s Food Stores where he served Cleveland residents for over 30 years.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Boone Hall, his mother, Vera Sullivan Hall, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Charles Young, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Eugene Harrison, brother-in-law, Irvin Kinser, brother-in-law, Kevin Kinne and nephew Anthony Sherlin.
Ted is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hope Carroline (Kinser) Hall, daughter and son-in-law Carroline (Hall) and Rocco Iacovelli of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law Brent and Marti Hall of Cleveland; grandchildren Rylee Hall and H. Reece Hall of Cleveland and Raygan Hall of Greenville, SC; brother U.S. Navy Cdr (Ret) Daniel B. Hall Jr of DeBary, FL; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jimmie (Kinser) and Charles Cooper of Cleveland; sister-in-law Gladys (Kinser) Sherlin of Cleveland; sister-in-law Marilyn (Kinser) Kinne of Cleveland; sister-in-law Jewel Kinser; nieces and nephews: Charles Cooper Jr (Faye) of Cleveland, Deanna Cooper Barrick (David) of Athens, GA, Denzil Cooper (Mary) of Cleveland, Johnnie Cooper (Rhonda) of Cleveland, Beth Sherlin Rainey (Lee) of Cleveland, Jay Ted Sherlin of Cleveland, Denise Harrison Verner (Frederick) of Cleveland, Kelly Kinser Owens (Brian) of Chesapeake, VA, Kevin Kinser of Cleveland and Amy, Angie, Niki (of Cleveland), Dee, Colon and Wes Young (Barbara and Charles) of FL; and many great-nephews and nieces.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 21 at the Dixon Chapel on the Campus of North Cleveland Church of God. A visitation will be from 1-3pm with a memorial service at 3pm and graveside service immediately following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peacemakers Senior Adult Ministry at North Cleveland Church of God.
