William Lincoln Farmer Sr.

March 10, 1922 — October 5, 2017

William “Lincoln” Farmer, Sr., 95, of Cleveland, TN went to be with his heavenly father on October 5th, 2017. He was at Hospice of Chattanooga. He was born on March 10, 1922. He is preceded in death by his parents Elbert Claude Farmer and Jewel Gibson Farmer and two brothers James Farmer and Lynn Farmer and one sister Lucille Farmer Vestal. He was a World War II Veteran with Army 825th tank destroyer regiment for 3 years and 2 months achieving the rank of Corporal. He retired from Cleveland Ready Mixed Concrete after 32 years. He was a charter member, serving as a deacon and faithful member for many years at Cloverleaf Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 75 years, Grace Knox Farmer, five sons W.L. Farmer, Jr. and wife Bunny, Larry Farmer and wife Margaret all of Georgetown, Tommy Farmer and wife Terry, Billy Farmer and wife Trudy, Michael Farmer and wife Becky all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, one sister Agnes Neely Chastain of Cleveland and brother in law Ray Knox and wife Inga of Bakersfield, CA.
Family will receive friends on Monday October 9, 2017 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Cloverleaf Baptist Church with the funeral at 2:00pm. Interment will be at East View Baptist Church in Georgetown with Rev. Gary Higgins and Rev. Johnny Moore officiating and grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family request instead of flowers donations be made to Cloverleaf Baptist Church 2290 Waterlevel Highway, Cleveland, TN 37311 or East View Baptist Cemetery Fund 2083 No Pone Road Georgetown, TN 37336.
