William Earl Mccall

William Earl McCall, 83, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on February 28, 2023, surrounded by family.

He was born in Coffee Springs, AL, on September 13, 1939, son of late Gaston and Idell McCall. Earl was preceded in death by his son, William Jeffrey McCall, his grandson, Austin Lee McCall, and his sister, Elain (McCall) Perkins.

He is survived by his spouse of 62 years, JoAnn (Bailey) McCall, and his sons, William E. (Angela) McCall Jr and Kevin (Aimee) McCall. He is survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Mariah, Joseph, Owen, Carson, Aidan, and Kylie. Also, he is survived by great-grandchildren, Chloe, Neyland, Naomi, and Amauri.

Earl was a God loving, Christian man who instilled in his kids a love for the lord. Earl served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg during the early 1960s. He and JoAnn were married in September of 1960, and they started their family. They had all three of their children while living in Perry, FL, but picked up and moved the family to Cleveland, TN in 1973. Earl was a loving husband and a stern, but loving father. He enjoyed woodworking and made many of the furnishings in the home.

 He also enjoyed creating items for family and friends. People would often ask him for help or advice on how to do something and more times than not, he would insist on doing it for them. Earl enjoyed fishing and loved to take his children and grandchildren out on his boat. Whether in the workshop or on the water fishing, he found happiness in sharing his knowledge.

Earl’s life will be honored on Friday, March 3rd at Central Church of Christ, 200 NW 25th St, Cleveland, TN 37311. Visitation starts at 10am and the service starts at 12pm. Internment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery immediately following the service.
