Obituary

William Curry "Billy" Bandy, 79, a long time resident of Cleveland passed away peacefully September 4th, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 7th, 1934 to the late I.H. Bandy & Cleta King Bandy. Bill was raised in a Christian home and came to know the Lord as his Savior later in his life. He retired in 1975 from the U. S. Navy at the age of 41 and then retired from Westvaco after he and his family moved back to Tennessee from Minnesota. He was an avid Braves fan along with his wife they loved fishing together. Bill fished from an ice house on the lakes in Minnesota to the ocean in the gulf with Grasshopper Lake in between.

In addition to his father and mother, Bill joins his wife of 52 years, Eileen Grace Bandy, four brothers, Jack Bandy, Gordon Bandy, Bernard Bandy & Jerry Bandy and one nephew Jeff Bandy in Heaven.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory four children, William "Doug" Bandy (Sherri), Dennise Bandy Griffith, Daphne Floyd (Danny), Donna Ellis (Tim) six grandhcildren; Anna Lea Griffith, Beau Lawson, Jason Bandy, Allison Griffith, Hannah Ellis, Bayleigh Ellis and one great grandson Finn Lawson, two brothers Harold Bandy (Ailene) and Ralph Bandy (Betty) and three sisters-in-law Glenda Bandy, Johnnie Bandy and Roberta Bandy, several nieces, nephews and friends that loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon September 7th, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN. They will also receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.

A celebration of Bill's life is planned for Monday afternoon, September 8th, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Veteran's section of Fort Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy a memorial in Bill's name may be sent to the Southeastern Alzheimer's Association @ 7625 Hamilton Park Drive Suite 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421 (423) 265-3600.
